Ergo Proxy looked like an atmospheric noir cyberpunk anime series. I suppose it sort of is. The best word for it that comes to mind, though, is phantasmagoric (ie. dreamlike - thank you, old word-a-day calendar). Visually, it's dark. We have a finite amount of time and money for entertainment. I've had plenty of reservations about the reboot of Ghostbusters. The original is a classic, and I'd say one of THE movies of the 80's. The trailers were so-so. I went to see Zootopia today, and... it's pretty great. One of the greatest "sins" for a movie in my book is to take me out of the story - whether it's boggling over a plot hole or finding dialog clunky, if I'm forced to sit back and think about the movie as a movie, that's a form of failure in the storytelling.
