Старинная мебель с "хитростями"-продолжение.
Когда находишь такие старинные вещи- поражаешься, до чего же люди ценили удобство и комфорт и какую изобретательность проявляли.
Небольшие столики для рукоделия, игр, бюро и кабинеты со множеством ящичков, выдвижными досками и полочками, секретами- сейчас такого не увидишь.
Совмещенный со столиком стул Жакоба, столешница двигается.
И сам при этом на колесиках!

La plateau adopte une forme végétale, duquel se déploient en corolle six petits compartiments circulaires, marquetés intérieurement.
Le piètement est en fer forgé doré.
Epoque fin XIXème siècle.

Что интересно- в средневековье стационарные большие столы были большой редкостью, обычно столешницу, уже накрытую, ставили на козлы. Такие картинки есть, я их позже покажу.
А это редкая конструкция раздвижного стола.
На картинку надо кликнуть, и тогда будет ясен механизм раскладки- столешницу сначала надо покрутить.
Оригинал был запатентован Robert Jupe в 1835. Такие столы встречаются крайне редко и доходят до цены $ 500 000 на аукционах. Каждый стол- со стойкой для хранения клиньев.

A VERY FINE CIRCULAR MAHOGANY EXPANDING 'JUPE' TABLE

Circa 1845
Formerly the Astor Family dining table. The segmented top expanding to receive eight original chevron pattern leaves. The plain cross-banded frieze above a tripod base with turned bulbous stem from which issue three well drawn carved cabriole legs.

Jupe Table An extending dining room table. The swivel action top is formed of eight spin-out, triangular segments with additional leaves to expand the table top, which is raised on a substantial center turned pillar and four turned columns on a concave platform base. The handmade internal capstan action and inset corners are of solid brass. The original was patented by Robert Jupe of 47 Welbeck Street, Cavendish Square in March 1835. Jupe and his then partner John Johnson manufactured these tables between 1835 and 1840. Jupe tables are extremely rare, in fact amongst the rarest of all furniture , and have fetched up to $500,000 at auction. Each table is accompanied by a baize-lined leaf storage cabinet.

А это- уже современные усовершенствованные столы, в них не надо вставлять клинья, они закреплены под верхней столешницей- создается впечатление настоящего фокуса.
