I woke up last night to see part of what was an unreasonably cold lunar eclipse. I'm not complaining, exactly, just pointing out that for a major astronomical event, it was remarkably ill managed, and something about a red moon just makes the cold feel even colder.
This, of course, heralded this year's winter solstice. Happy Solstice to all! The cats suggest celebrating by sleeping in (probably too late for most of you) scampering in the sun, eating your favorite food, climbing in the lap of your favorite person or persons, taking a long nap, preferably in the sun, spending some quality time bird watching, and then taking another long nap. How better to celebrate your lack of hours today?
