Eeek.

As Ionel is entertaining a possible opportunity in California, I find myself obsessing over earthquakes and my fear of flying (which would be put to the test more and more often should something come of this and we move). Gah... What's wrong with me? Since when do I worry about earthquakes for crying out loud!?!

I think it's really the whole idea of journeying to "Arnold Country" more than anything, wouldn't you say so?

You may have something there.
Anyway, we're concentrating on possibilities closer to home. The California job may not be a perfect fit. We'll see.

Earthquakes can happen anywhere. Oh yeah, we get land slides and there is tsunami danger too!

Don't listen to my Dear Husband! I have never once seen a tsunami actually happen here, and land slides will only affect you if you've got a house on a cliff. And as for the earthquakes, I think they're fun!

The only thing that scares me about California is the cost of living! :-O

Have you ever flown before, btw?

I'm from Romania, so, yes, I have flown before, both here and abroad. I don't like it. The bigger the plane, the worse I feel. I only feel comfortable in small, airline maintained planes, but it is pretty rare that I get to travel on those.

I can go to this conference in Portugal in September, but I'm not sure if I'm going to go: the long flight seems kind of scarry.

If you go at night and can sleep through it, it's not so bad.

This opportunity Marina mentioned will probably not pan out anyway. During my first in-depth interview, I figured out that the job description was a little vague and the bulk of the job is doing something I haven't done much of. Plus, the interviewer cut the interview to under 20 minutes once he figured out the mismatch. Oh, well... And since we're talking about misunderstandings, here is a joke on the topic:
----
There once was a priest who had to spend the night in a hotel and offered hat check girl to come up to his room for dinner.

After a while he started advancing on her when she stopped him and reminded him he was a holy man.

"It's o.k.," he replied, "it's written in the Bible."

So after a wild night of sex the hat check girl asked to see where in the Bible it says it's okay.

The priest picks up the Bible off the dresser opens to the first page where someone wrote in pencil - "The hat check girl puts out!"
