Isn’t the human a piece of art? Not only the outside, but the inside as well. Especially the lungs and arteries, they look really beautiful!
I’ve been to an exhibition with real human bodies, preserved at a cellular level. I thought it would be about examining corpses, because the visit was arranged by the Indianapolis criminology professor, but in the end it was all medical and less creepy than one might think.
The bodies belonged to Asians and I think they have chosen small sized bodies in purpose. They were cut in special ways so you could see the insides and understand how everything looks and connects with the rest. Many parts were in pieces, so you could have a better look at it, be it the skin or the inside of the one. You could also see the effects of some diseases, including brain stroke and lung cancer. Next to the lung cancer exhibit there was a trash can especially made for cigarettes. Yeap. Like if it was about what people know. They do know the effects of smoking. But maybe they want to live with the fear of cancer or other diseases. Human psychology is a huge subject.
Anyway. In the final part there were also fetuses. It was kind of sad. But extremely interesting. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take photos… Here is a small one I found in the net.

And a video with someone explaining things. (10 min.) It seems that they didn’t bring everything here in Athens.
