I let them get away with it.
The Civil Procedure class I proctored last Thursday was not exactly a group of mature and responsible students who knew that to do well, they had to study and rely on no one but themselves. 4 or 5 students had bionic vision :) They'd look over their seatmate's paper and look up to see if I was watching. I give them a little smile that clearly said, "I know what you're doing." but that was all.
You see, while I was slaving away, doing my dad a favour without pay, my driver (a close friend of my dad, and the family's too) got himself drunk and created public disturbance by insisting that the test-taking time was up, when in fact, the poor students still had a full half hour. He was all noisy, and there was a lot of door-banging and irrational persuasion.
The students were distracted, of course, and most couldn't concentrate.
Two wrongs don't make a right, I know, and that incident should most definitely not justify the other. But all because of pity's sake, I let them get away.
I did take note of their names and I might own up to my dad when he gets home, but right now, while he's still abroad, my decision is to stay mum.
Because I'm not mature and responsible either.
Yesterday's class went smooth all the way, though. The third-year Evidence class were cool, calm, and collected, and they seemed to know what they were doing.
I saw Atty. Lopez, my Government and Constitution professor, and a good friend of my dad's, yesterday at the law school. I was so glad to see a familiar face, I went up and kissed him on the cheek. o.O Seryoso! We're not very close, just a bit, but
parang tatay
kasi siya e (hover), I couldn't help it. (By the way, there is absolutely no bias. I passed his course, but not with flying colours--exactly what I deserved.)
I missed football practice today.
I was so tired from yesterday, I couldn't possibly run the usual laps around the field.
