Trans and Nonbinary Gender Inclusiveness in D&D 5E, Followup
The Mary Sue interviewed 5E lead designers Mike Mearls and Jeremy Crawford about That Paragraph. It's a pretty softball interview, with TMS not bringing up any of the problems some people have had with the wording, some eyeroll-inducing self-backpatting from the designers, and some whitewashing of past editions' failures with regard to sexism, racism and transphobia. But it does provide some insight into their thinking, and the development process that went into it. I was particularly interested in the diversity panels at Gen Con that Crawford attended.
