I haven't been posting much, because my new job is often exhausting, but today is my day off, and I did my best to make up for lost time.
I finished up the Dark Angels assault squad first. They all have their decals, and I finished up their bases using
the same colors and techniques as the sergeant. They all needed some touch-up painting as well.
They still need a clear flat coat. Since the Valspar turned out badly, I'm going to pick up some Testors Dullcote at Hobbyland come my next payday. Right now the area around the decals is a little shiny from the Future.
More pictures below the fold.
I hadn't originally planned on doing it, but my eye fell on the Word Bearers heavy weapon squad, so I got them started while the Dark Angels were drying. I'll be using the technique
johnlh devised for his World Eaters, the base layer of which (in my case at least) is Tamiya XF-56 Metallic Grey.
The arms, heads and backpacks are left separate for ease of painting, but they're getting done as well:
I also finished painting over the
repair work for the Otherworld Type II demon for AD&D:
(Now that I have a job and monies, getting some of
Otherworld's fantastic female adventurer minis is high on my list of priorities, BTW.)
There are other things in the wind that I haven't gotten a chance to post about yet. For one, I think I may have solved
the 3D dungeon problem. Stay tuned for a post about those Hirst Arts dungeons.
Finding that
rare old Battletech book has awakened the slumbering BT nerd in me. One of my agenda items for tomorrow is to dig out my old Battletech miniatures, inventory them to see what I've still got, and maybe paint some of them up.
I bought
johnlh's copy of OGRE: Designer's Edition. I want to talk about that in detail in a future post.
Finally, I indulged in some other gaming purchases with my first paycheck. I got the Age of Rebellion beginner box set at the Guardtower, and Amazon will deliver unto me the new D&D basic set tomorrow.
