 Believe, by: Maria Zaldivar.

Unspoken words can be heard, withered feelings, heart wrenching shudders. Is this what I’ve come to know? Is this what this has become? I look out my window, and words can’t describe what I see. Agony, malice, devastation.

What has this world come to be? We’re mere mortals, yet we pretend we’re Gods. Let’s take a few steps back and swallow our pride. Let’s recognize our faults. What’s wrong with letting our guards down? What’s wrong with being vulnerable? The world is crying, can’t you hear?

People need people. Only we can help each other. Only we can fix this. Is it true that you cannot kill what you did not create? Then why do we do it? Don’t let fear consume you, don’t loose hope. Even if you don’t believe in divine intervention, believe in the next best thing.

Yourself.

This world needs help, and it needs us to help it. Only if we come together, we can achieve great things. Don’t give up, believe in people. Believe in you. Soon enough this world will pull through.

small poem; inspired by what's going on in Japan.
