So here's a brief rundown of my life lately:
Been training new people at work. One person in particular is very, very irritating. The rest will do fine I think once they become more comfortable with computer functions.
With all of this training going on, I don't think it would be a wise move to apply for a lead position. Its looking more likely that I'll actually take summer classes (more on that later) and I don't want to sacrafice work for school or vice versa. We've gone from having 2-4 people on the shift to 5-10 and it will only get bigger... My poor li'l brain can't handle all of it! I've never felt so scatterbrained in all my life as the past two weeks having to keep track of everyone's breaks, remember who has been trained on what, perform other side projects, etc.
I went to campus the other day and paid ISU the almost $200 I owed them for what was left of my summer classes and perscriptions from when I was still going thru student health. Then I completed a loan exit interview and now I'm waiting for my registration start date for summer classes to see what all I want to/can take for the summer term. I need to go at least half-time to defer my loans again.
I started paying on student loans this month (last month, whatever) after sending in all the paperwork to subsidize them back in January. They just got info back from the other two loans so the process still isn't complete. I was getting phone calls since my check I mailed in to start direct withdrawl is still held up in the consolidation process.
I drove out to Nevada (pronounced ne-VAY-duh) to get my Iowa plates. I didn't get my stuff mailed in to get personalized plates, but the woman there said I could send that info in any time and just trade the ones I got for the personalized ones when they're ready. So it's official, my car is an Iowegian now, too.
There's a working CD player in my car now for the first time since Christmas. There's a small car shop in Ames who buys used/junked Ford Focuses (Foci?) so they had a few factory CD players around... The guy fished my 6 CDs out of the old radio and put an operable (albeit only a single disc player) deck into my car for fifty bucks. Better than going to get a brand new aftermarket radio for about $200.
Lakeshia and I found new apartments across the hall from each other. Our new landlady is friggin' awesome. She said if anyone is being loud enough to wake me up during the day, she'd take care of it right away. If there's a 2nd complaint, she's having the police put a sound monitor on them. If there's a 3rd, they're evicted. She's never had to evict anyone. My unit will be $500 with heat, utilities, and cable included, just have to pay electric and internet. I'm still waiting for my mom to finish the cosignor paperwork to see how much my deposit will be, but its very likely I'll only have to pay $99 or maybe even $0. Oh, and I'm allowed to have a cat! Again, have to see what happens.
