Hmmm...two nights ago I was asked if I was really going to miss Japan, and I quickly responded "not really".
I mean, there are certainly things I love about it here--but there are also things that I am glad to be rid of. I love how the people are so polite and will not settle for anything other than perfection. I love the work ethic and the ideals (many coming from Bushido) that are taught to children at such young ages. I will also miss certain people here...probably people I will not be able to see for many years to come. I will not miss, however--how damn expensive everything is, how such a short distance from one place to another can seem like such a long journey, and the hot humid wet weather. I don't think I will ever be able to eat a watermelon in the same way again.
Since Greg and I are going to be homeless vagabonds next week, we decided to stay in our apartment and our city as much as possible. I know we should be out exploring during our last weeks here in Japan, but I want to save that when we don't have a choice but to go out and do that.
I'm excited about going to Disney Sea before going back. It's something that's been on my list since I got here, and it's funny that we've waited until the very end to do it. I want to see if the characters in suits are really shorter than the costumed actors in the US. LOL.
I am going to really miss volunteering at the community center.
How the hell am I going to be able to fit all my crap in two suitcases. OMG. Hahaha, I have double the clothes from when I arrived! AH!
