Gosh, that's one of the things that annoys me the most...the excuses constantly made for the Lust arc, specially for Orihime's character.
I mean, if a character did something, annoyingly horrible, that has either sunken my favorite ship or has the sinking ship potential lingering in the air....I DO NOT MAKE EXCUSES FOR THE CHARACTERS-only if it's justifialbe, but even then....usually I just sit there going.....WHAT THE HECK (insert name here) WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!
Don't even get me started on how Kishimoto is conviently making Naruto completely ignore and avoid Sakura's and Hinata's confession like they never happened. I don't even care about which ship wins any more (Even though I do love both-though slightly have more love for NaruHina)....heck I don't care if both ships are permanently sunk. BUT FREAKING SINK IT KISHI!!!! DON'T SHIP TEASE THEN IGNORE IT AND PRETEND IT NEVER HAPPENED! It honestly portrays Naruto like a coward and a jerk! EVEN IF YOU SAY IT CAN'T WORK OUT WITH EITHER OR BOTH GIRLS!!! GIVE THEM SOME RESOLUTION DANGIT!!!! YOU FREAKING JERK!!!!
(and don't get me started on the sloppily handled Romance in Digimon Adventure 02-which did nothing BUT piss people off....I have moved on with my life, and while the forced and out of nowhere romance with certain characters....I still think sucks and the writers could of OBVIOUSLY handled it way better....And while my beloved Taiora was sunken in such a cruel way....I do not try make excuses for Taiora, or Sora's random sudden interest in Matt, or bash-whine and rape Sorato, AT ALL!!!! I accept what happens, just happens, and what doesn't doesn't)
Anyways-moving on from that ranty tangent and going on to the next one...*shot*, I don't make excuses for a failed ship to fit my agenda...if I'm part of a failing or sunken ship (which I happen to be in nearly EVERYTIME in a shoujo series....yet for some reason, on the winning ships for shounens???? Lol weird-anyways). Same goes with books or movies, you name it. I was never for HarryGinny, I still feel that, the pairing is too rushed, out of no-where and just feels Harry and Ginny are on the rebound with each other...HOWEVER, I accept that THAT is what Rowling wants (and just think she handled the Harry romance poorly, where as the Ron and Hermione Romance I think was perfect!) I don't try to make excuses for the ship I truly love, HarryLuna-do I wish it happened....yes, was I disappointed, of course...but I accept that even though I find it SO BLAND AND BORING-HarryGinny is canon. I accept HarryLuna is fanon-but I love and embrace my fanon pairings!
Fanon pairings are fun! Why can't they just accept what's fanon is fanon, and just love and embrace that for what it is....there is NOTHING WRONG WITH LOVING FANON PAIRINGS! As listed above. In shoujos specially, I forever will always love the underdog pairings that never happen-instead of the obvious clitche ones....but I don't go harping on fans who like that....raping the series and people's logic. I just embrace the pairing I love, acknowledge THAT IT ISN'T CANON, and enjoy shipping something I find wonderful. With FMA, I have never been an EdWin fan....even with the manga making it canon....I'm ok with that...I really didn't care. That's what the creator wanted so it happened, no big deal. I will forever love my fanon EdxRose and EdxNoa, but they aren't canon, so no need to cry over spilled milk...its like when you lose to the other team in a sports game, or any game for that matter, there is no need to worry and fret and frustrate yourself over the lose, just accept the lose like a good sport and move on with your life. It'll be much healthier for you.
Sorry this is obviously ONE OF the biggest issue I have with THESE TYPES OF fans that exist within the sections of the IchiHime fandom (or as I dub THESE people, Origos) and it irks me to know end....and I just ended up ranting a whole bunch again! XD
