I'm looking at a laptop for my birthday, and I'm down to a choice of two:
Acer 4810T
Dell Studio 15
Any thoughts? Experience? Both can come with reasonable memory, hard drive and processors. The Acer is small, light, cute and has excellent battery life. Dell has blu-ray and slightly better graphics.
I'll be using it for general, light home use - interwebs, photos, a bit of mp3, iplayer and a few documents. I'm not a gamer, a massive photoshopper or anything else graphics and processor-heavy.
I've got a Dell work laptop, and it may as well be a Fisher Price one. Dell's service is up and down like a bride's nightie and I do have a grudge against them selling out of Ireland. But then I've no idea what Acer's service is like.
Also, how do I get around the Windows Vista issue?
I won't be buying a Mac, no matter how hard you try to convince me. We've had one already and it's just not worked for me (plus it's quite knackered now)
So, comments please? And not too techie if you can?
Thanks chaps
