We lost Zoe for 45 minutes tonight and I flipped my shit. My mom had accidently let her go while we were walking them and Zoe ran around pulling the huge leash retractor behind her, the noise of it scraping on the concrete probably terrifying her. You can't run away from something that's attatched behind you. So poor little girl found her way into the side yard (which is surrounded by chicken wire!) and got the leash stuck around a huge potted plant. I was sure by that time that she'd run into the lake on the golf course and drowned because of the leash. Who knows how far she went, but the leash retractor was MESSED up by the time I found her. We had 5 of the neighborhood kids helping us go all around the golf course and the front of the house. I think we found a problem with owning tiny scared dogs and living on the golf course.
Whew. Tough night. My baby has attatched herself to me and is sleeping soundly. At least I know she will come home. I don't know what I would have done otherwise.
