So today in a fit of post-aquafit sincerity
I decided to give up the alias. I'm done with being a figure of amusement, and while I hope to remain an amusing figure (see the difference?) I'll be doing so as the real and charming Nikky McCarvill instead of the flighty and somewhat fraudulent Margarita Palmtree. Like Chris Gaines before her, the character is in some ways rather better than the actor, but has an inevitably limited shelf life, one that's stretched itself out rather too long. On the upside, now that she's dead we can talk about what we really think of her.
And seeing as I'm so fond of making up names and throwing together characters, it may well just be a case of Ziggy Stardust being replaced by Aladdin Sane.
Incidently, the decision to lose Margarita was brought on by my sudden realization that the only driver's licence I had was my fake one written on lined notebook paper in the name of Margarita Palmtree, dating from the name's inception, with the words "Actual Official Identification" scrawled across the top. It's been recycled! I have no identity!
