Phone phun!
You might or might not remember that a few weeks ago my phone was out for over a week.
Yesterday afternoon I called the phone support people to ask why I couldn't call long-distance from my office phone since I moved (I need it for a conference call this pm). They said "Oh, we'll fix that!"
This morning, I got in and the phone didn't work. So I used skippyclese's phone to call them back, and they said "You need an auth code to call long-distance" and "I'll put in a ticket about your phone." I was convinced that me calling them yesterday to ask for long-distance capability was why they turned off my phone.
No, it turns out that there's a water leak somewhere that essentially ate my phone jack. Oh well, it was a nice conspiracy theory while it lasted!
The phone is fixed, the facilities people are notified, and I still can't call long-distance.
