We've been talking about this in the OUTBoard for several months now: high speed rail in NC. The bit that has changed is that Amtrak and NC Rail are interested, and we've never been able to get them interested before.
It's been hard in the past to get them interested, probably because there was never any prospect of money before.
I'm really psyched about this, and am looking forward to working on it.
