Braggin' on the boy
I've got to brag on the boy a bit today. First of all, he got an absolutely stellar report card with a nice letter from his teacher today. It said, among other things, that he is a delight to have in the classroom, he is excellent at math and doing very well with reading, and the worst thing she could think to say about him was that he occasionally forgot to clean up after his snack. The report card doesn't have letter grades for kindergarten, but has +, -, or a check. He got no minuses at all, and more plus signs than checks (check means 'as expected).
I figured we're doing something right.
And I've got to report on two cute things. We were talking about being tired and going to bed, and he said 'My pillow keeps my energy and gives it back to me when I sleep.' I thought that one was pretty cool. And he went off to bed.
The other one is for the computer geeks - the boy is a sysadmin in training. We went to pick him up from afterschool care, and he was in the computer lab. He finished his game and logged himself off, then he looked at the computer next to his where his buddy had been sitting. The buddy had left a few minutes earlier, so he logged HIM off, too! That's my boy!
