I've been remiss with the actual me part of this blog, as if you all care what I had for lunch, but here goes.
The truck is back, and fixed, clutch and emergency brake both, for just over $300. Yay! So that cost much less than we had feared and the truck lives to drive probably several more years.
A. also bought a bicycle, which cost slightly more than all of the recent truck repairs put together. It's a Gary Fisher hybrid, and he LOVES it. This means I get to ride o-
zihuatanejo's bike, which is a bit on the tall side for me but all in all, quite ridable.
I need to spend quality time at the bike shops in the area, so that I find the perfect bike for me. I'm intrigued by some of the recent bikes that allow you to put your feet down flat, and have more of a sit-up-straight seating model than most road bikes. I rode rather obsessively in highschool and college, and wore out several crap bikes from K-mart during that time. I've ridden a bit this past week, some last night and some last Sunday, and while it wears me out, it's good, I'm not having any health problems. Go me!
I'm working on SQL programming - working to put data into a database via a program - currently Perl, but that's just 'cos it's what I know best (which is really not very well at all). And I'm starting to work on a kind of interesting new project that I'm not sure how much I can talk about, but it's very odd. Yes, I put that in there just to tease you all, and to make sure you're reading!
I seem to have put aside the weaving for the moment in favour of knitting, but I think it's only momentary, and I'll get back to weaving soon. And sewing. Must sew for
SSBB, mostly for the boy. I am pretty sure I'll wear my embroidered underdress with the blue plaid over top, unless I wind up marshalling, for which I will need boy-clothes.
I signed Nate up for
soccer yesterday. I'm going to be a soccer mom! Aaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! You'll all have to suffer through pics of the kid-amoeba chasing the ball :) I'm planning on signing him up for violin lessons soon too.
