Army on hold for now...
I went in to MEPS yesterday for the shipping/processing. I let them know about the hip during the final medical review. I didn't have to, because they forgot to ask me the questions, but I told them anyway. So, the doc & i talked for a bit, then she disqualified me from joining temporarily. She said that this would be the best way, as a DQ would force the Army to help fix my hip. 2 wasted days this week, a lot of rushing around to move and such, and way too much stress. It's over for now, 'tho.
My new shipping date is May 27th. I lost my good Army job (electronics tech), but I replaced it with satellite communications tech, which has similar duties and training, and a bigger bonus. Less training time, too.
Talked to my main sergeant again today, and we're trying to get a doctor involved to get things fixed. Also working on getting into a clinic here, in Saginaw, while I wait. I've got 2 months to heal and train up, so that's all good. A little too much time to be in Saginaw, however. The Army would rather have me in Kalamazoo if I can't be in Grand Rapids, but I don't want to impose on my sister again, and haven't talked to anyone else.
On a library computer right now, so I ought to go.
