Shokura July 2008 Observations and Conclusions
MY OWN OPINIONS SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT I'VE WRITTEN, BUG OFF!
1. TegoMass sounds forced singing their own songs live. This doesn't really happen when they sing NewS songs. I don't get it. They sounded fine in weeeek. And the 100 Years (?) Junior song. But Ai Ai Gasa was just too... forced. In both performances. So was Kiss ~ Kaerimichi no Love Song last year.
2. Nakamaru and Koyama sound great live. At least for their solos. I knew Nakamaru could sing, based on his recordings. But what has been put on cd doesn't necessarily sound the same live. Trust Yamapi. But Maru sounds great. Koyama sounds great live too. Except not when he's jumping around and singing weeeek at the same time
3. Backes Kento, Matori Hayashi and all the other guys have grown up. God I saw those guys when they were still chibis. Exactly one year ago, July 2007's Shokura in Osaka, those kids were... small. And chibi-ish. And all cute. But now, they're all hot and whatnot. Guess the Little Gangs are not so little anymore.
This is the difference between the Kantou Juniors and Kansai Juniors. Since we only see the Kansai Juniors once a year (well, except for a select few), we don't really notice much of the "blossoming" of the Kantou Juniors. (Pardon me for a lack of an appropriate word. What I just said actually reminds me of the Filipino indie movie "Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros" a.k.a. "The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros" and gives me all sorts of wild imagination churva whutever... I'm babbling.)
The Kantou Juniors do turn into young men before our eyes. Just not as abruptly as the Kansai Juniors. We grow with the Kantou Juniors. The Kansai Juniors just shock us with their... hotness. Honestly, that just makes the Kansai Juniors so appealing to me.
4. I seriously want to see an episode of Shokura in Osaka with NewS. YES PLEASE. And preferrably with a restored 8-member NewS although that's not really necessary. BUT, a Ryo-Kansai Juniors interaction is necessary with Yamapi looking on, so is a Shige-Bunchan reunion. Complete with baby/preschool/elementary school (whenever they were together) pictures.
5. Koyama. Tegoshi. Massu. Nakamaru. I cannot describe how much I really really love this foursome. There isn't really much Tego-Maru interaction, but it's very very very VERRRRRRRY clear that Massu and Maru are actually close friends. And God. Koyama's Member-Ai makes it even more......... appealing? No, that's not the word. You guys get it anyway, right? It's as if the 4 or them are in one group. Imagine, Nakamaru in NewS. LOL. Okay, maybe not. A Johnny's sub-unit then. With just the 4 of them. Koyama gets to be leader because Nakamaru is full of fail when it comes to member-ai.
6. Nakata Daichi, Yamasaki Kunta, Senzaki Ryota, Ito Masashi... Oh God. These people. Successors of Eito craziness. Or maybe it's just the Kansai blood that runs through their veins.
Oh and yeah.
I'd totally hit on Senzaki Ryota.
And Nakata Daichi.
... who is apparently going to be the next Murakami Shingo.
7. Hamanaka Bunichi. Yes, our dearest Bun-chan must have a section all to his own. I LOVE HIM. God. Crazy kid. And he's such a boke, he hits himself (didn't you guys notice during today's Jr. ni Q?).
8. Nakayama Yuma. Amazing. I think the current "Tackey and Tsubasa" of the Kantou juniors would be M.A.D.E., particularly Hashimoto who seems to be the next "Takizawa Hideaki" to my eyes (what I mean is that he could possibly be THE junior leader someday). But remember during the GOLDEN AGE of JOHNNY'S JUNIORS? It was Takizawa of the East, Shibutani of the West. Nakayama Yuma is the next "Shibutani Subaru". Well not as radical as our darling Subaru who looks like he could moon anyone at anytime. Nakayama Yuma seems to be more of a Takizawa Hideaki. Except Kansai jin. It's kind of like a Yamapi-Ryo thing except with much less interaction. He's popular enough to become a Kansai Junior leader someday just as I think Hashi is popular enough to lead the juniors in general. I guess most of Yuma's popularity is from BATTERY but then I recognized him before BATTERY and I really did think he has the "IT" factor way back then. So does Hashi. But then I'm not so familiar with Hashi as I'm more of a Kansai junior fan.
Remember, that is all just speculation. My personal views on the matter. I really hope all this happens... in a few years. And if they do.... someone pay me a million dollars. I might be good at this guessing thing.
9. Hamanaka Bunichi + Nakayama Yuma. Wearing different costumes from their respective groups. Bun-chan wearing white with the veterans who were wearing something that looks like what NewS wore in the Kibou ~ Yell PV. Yuma-kun wearing white with Hey! Say! West who were wearing red, white and blue. WHOA. BATTERY and Butoukan did good for their careers. Good for them. (And good for me. More screen time = more chances to ogle and kya at them.)
I wonder who's going to guess next month. Eito? With Uchi, hopefully? After all it's the 8th month of 2008. Maybe they could appear with 8 members again. PLEASE JOHNNY-san? Pwetti pleeeeeease with sprinkles on top?
