I am so very glad that this year is coming to a close. It's been a far more difficult than I had anticipated. I was adequately prepared for some bumps in the road. I was not prepared for a long drive through the mountains...but I did manage to avoid the bumps on the way through.
Funny how that works.
Anyway, I wanted to convey thanks to my friends and family. Their never-ending encouragement and advice was what got me through this year and kept me from derailing entirely. I am hoping for more smooth sailing this year...or at least managing to avoid the swirling vortexes of death. :-)
In fact, I'm even going to name names. (If I didn't name you, that doesn't mean anything except that I am terminally short on memory. You have my thanks and appreciation as well.)
So let's start with the people most likely to read this. I greatly appreciate your kind words. In no particular, order, thank you, ursulagoddess, fields_dude, oddprofessor, redqueenofevil, teaflopsy, crayonbreakygal, mybadattitudes, myvicissitudes, astra_nomer, funnel101, pielology, prof_brian, alexisyael, njschiffer, primrose, and bluetrekker. All of my LJ friends have been awesome, but I can remember specific comments from each of you that were badly needed at the time...sometimes just to make me laugh and look on the bright side.
Also, okham, who is now known as Massimo, and who (fortunately for me) has a hard time keeping his opinion to himself. :-)
Thank you to my (mostly) RL friends Cale, Anna, Laura, Antoinette, Nicci, and Tami.
And of course, Mike, the kids, my parents, and my sisters are deserving of some wonderful recognition.
