I was taking a break and saw this discussion of Sotomayor's personal life on Hugo Schwyzer's blog. I want to respond specifically to the point made that men very often do not have to give a backseat to their ambitions because of a career-oriented spouse

I think it might be a generational thing... Most of the men I know are very accomadating (maybe not as much as your Mike!)

Then again, maybe it's an academic thing -- most academics we know are dual careered and I think more equal-minded this way! (I am the only SAHM of the group. My lack of career interest is weird in academic circles... but I'm just not ready to go back! Tho I might start teaching dance again...)
