Claire's teacher left a message for me on my machine at the newspaper. She said she heard a lot about me from Claire and wants me to speak to the class about writing. Of course my editor is thrilled!

Last night Chris was a total sweetheart and helped me pick out an extra CD player for deejaying. We're all set, he has the rest of the stuff to lend me, a mixer, speakers, CD player.

I'm so excited that I got so many emails from people saying they'd come and bring people. I didn't know I had so many friends in New Jersey!

Peter D. sent me some delicious spiralina in the mail. (Thanks again, Peter!)

NOW -- a little somethin' 'bout SHOES.

As most of you know, I'm not happy unless I'm wearing at least 3-inches, but I've been known to wear up to 6-inches. It's not because I'm short, but because heels are just so classy and girly. I like the way they make your strut so sexy. And I pride myself in always having perfectly polished toe-nails too.

I've worn heels so long I can run in heels, ride a bike in heels, have sex in heels, and dance all night in heels without taking them off like a lot of wimpy chicks do. Even when I went to the Catskills last summer, I hiked through woods in 5-inch platforms.

So, it always irks me when people say, "HOW CAN YOU WALK IN THOSE THINGS!!"

Well, I now give you the answer: "Because I can not walk without 'those things.'"

The other day I said to myself, "Let's be a little different" and treated myself to some stylish Candies flip flops with lovely black beads on them. They were gorgeous, but by the end of the day I was completely wiped out trying to walk in them. I just don't know how to walk in flat shoes and they slowed me down tremendously.

I felt like I lost a big chunk of my personality without being able to hop and skip around the office like a little girl.

This morning I woke up and had the worst lower back pain. I wondered why, because I never, ever, ever have back pain. But then I remembered, it was the flat shoes.

Those flat shoes are now in the garbage, thank-you very much. And I'm not one to say the word "never" but I think it's safe to say "never" again in this case.
