I'll start deejaying next Friday, May 21!!
I'll mention the place once the ad goes in the paper.
I'm hot shit, I have my own personal roadie too (*waves to Chris*). And, wow, I never had an ad in the paper about my deejaying, and I don't even have to pay for it!!
Heh, I thought I'd be making up fliers or some shit like that. But, wow, this is a classy place! The owner liked that I use the name Mare Idol. She goes, "Like Billy Idol." She's so cool and laid back. She reminds me of Terri from The Aquarian/Arts Weekly.
It's just a little sports bar with hardly any room to dance. The food looks awesome for those who eat cooked food, all that breaded squid stuff with the dipping sauce and big salads, low carb beers, etc.
This would be a good place to go before heading out to the Loop or Aldos or even New York. Like a good warm-up place. Although the owner said it gets really packed on Friday nights.
I'm sorry my New York friends won't get to go. Too bad, but I may be guest deejaying this East Village shindig soon. I'm not encouraging the guy because it will be on a night that I'll have to babysit the next day, and I want to wait until June, when it's all over and I don't have to be so responsible. I'm already only getting 4 hours sleep a night as it is, and I'm starting to feel it. Raw foods or not, this isn't normal and I've been dizzy for three days straight.
Oh, and the bathroom is really cool -- there's a HUGE photograph of Madonna making out with Britney Spears (not that I'm a Britney Spears fan, but I'm all pro generation gaps and of course, pro female!)
