Hey guys. I was talking to Wanda late last night and realised how much I love elbows. So I decided to write a little thing about them so you can see how I feel.
That Crazy, Funny Bone
Did you ever notice that the elbow, the crazy bone and the funny bone are all the same thing? Ever wonder why it's called these weird names? Let's start with "elbow." I think the el part is pretty obvious: when the elbow is bent, it looks like a capital "L." When it is straight, it looks like a lower case "l." But why bow? It isn't like a bow and arrow or a pretty bow that you put on presents. Maybe we should try pronouncing it differently. When people bow to each other, they normally bend their elbows. So that somewhat makes sense. Also, and this is quite crazy, did you ever notice that elbow spelled backwards is woble? Do elbows wobble? No. Then why is that relevant? It's not. Let's move on. As to the other names... when you hit your elbow, it hurts like "crazy" and people think that's "funny."
Elbows have always amazed me. When they're bent, they kind of make a point and are easy to notice. But when they are straight, they're barely noticable. Also, did you know that that one spot is where three bones meet? That's what gives you the ability to bend your arm and also to flip your hand. Could you imagine what life would be like without these crazy, funny bones? I think we need to celebrate our elbows. Let's make a national elbow day. It's about time they got the recognition they deserve. And just think about the possibilities for celebrating elbow day...
I hope you enjoyed that as much as I do. Well, I should be going, it's Brian's birthday and I have lots to do before I go over to his house.
Love ya,
Marcy
