Yet still more Play list
In the last two weeks I've become enamored with Last.fm, nurturing my profile and watering it like a tender but promising plant. I realized that I could use my play list to both listen to my favorite songs and still try out new music. To this end I've gone dipping in my favorite friends' music stashes.
One of the only problems I've had with Last.fm is that they will scrobble anything, but they often have profiles for musicians and music that you cannot play in your play list. So there's been some trial and error. Not everything that I have listed in the cut will actually play on Last.fm. And some stuff they play too much, which I don't think is a coincidence. Interpol? Yes, I've heard them ten times today, I don't care for an eleventh.
The best part of Last.fm was when Andy got a Last.fm account, which means I can see what he's listening to at anytime, which is great for me. I've rediscovered Taraf de Haidouks, a prominent gypsy band, cemented my distate for PiL, and found a bunch of really obscure treasures. If you look at the list and don't recognize the band, it's probably something I dug up off Andy's list.
