What's true:
- the air is super smoggy
- traffic sucks
This just means the bus is a worthwhile option. It got me back from supper at 1/20th the price of a taxi and in reasonable time. I dined at Cru, in my new favourite neighbourhood of LA. I don't know if it has a name, so I shall call it Veganville. There are arts and crafts stores (one called "Home Ec"!), thrift stores, stores with locally designed clothing, and a cluster of vegan restaurants and cafes.
Tonight I had flax crackers with walnut-pomegranate and some-sorta-cheesey spreads and cashew cheese stuffed pesto ravioli with arugula salad for dinner. I brought home a slice of coconut chocolate mousse pie to have for...breakfast tomorrow. All 100% raw. And I tried a delicious new-to-me tea!
My training course is in "Little Tokyo". There are more sushi restaurants than I have patience to count.
The bad news is that there are only three coffee shops within a two block radius of my hotel. One is in a foreboding office building and the other two are Starbucks. Meanwhile, there are at least two bail bond outfits.
The good news is that I found some pretty awesome ice cream mochi.
