It is a dark and stormy night.....The letter box is clattering in the high winds. Sleet mixed with rain is blowing across the yard and the distant rumble of thunder gives voice to the storm that is descending bringing plunging temperatures and snow overnight. Kind of a spooky sort of night. And a "fright movie" on TV, too.

So...Jesse's coming back from detox on Monday. John L.'s bail hearing is Monday. John B. is isolating, sad in his room stewing over his ex's lack of cooperation in regards to allowing his access to his children. Looks like it will go to court.  Carl's just in after traveling to Credit Valley Hospital just to find his meeting was canceled. Derek's gone to Cornwall, his usual weekend routine. Zoltan is moving a friend's girlfriend and helping her set up house. Gerald is watching TV, planning to leave for his father's farm in the morning. And I'll be going to Newmarket to see Mom tomorrow.

My son Patrick called tonight. Unusual in itself. But he talked and talked and that's highly unusual. His half sister called him from England. I saw her once in Jamaica when she was 10. She has three kids now. She wants to pay Patrick's way to England but he's not sure he can go with a record. She's another Nicole. We seem to be inundated with Nicoles. Patrick confirmed he can still come to Guelph with us Dec 10 and likely Sara too. He said John Longbottom was very unwell. I must call him tomorrow to see how he is.

Well my fingers on my right hand tingle a lot. It's the diabetes. It's getting to be a nuisance. I really blew it today and ate a maple covered pudding filled donut at work and a piece of strawberry-rhubarb pie. I had been doing fairly well since Tuesday. Back on track tomorrow.

My devotional today reminded me to keep my focus on Jesus.
