Doc checked to see if I was dilated today. I did not expect that to hurt so bad, but good gracious I was gonna cry. I just closed my eyes really tight and my upper body just got really tense. He told me "try to relax" and so i tried to relax down there at least, but my shoulders were TIGHT because I couldn't stand it. Yikes

oh no! Checking to see if your dialated hurts?! :( Im kinda thinking they are gonna check that at my next appointment.

I had my first check this week and it didn't hurt in the slightest. My doc also said I wasn't at all dilated, but the baby was head down.

yea, I think it is different for everyone... I thought about it later and I sorta suspect that it's because I haven't had sex for seven months...
on my very first visit when the nurse practitioner did the pap smear THAT actually hurt pretty bad, too. So it's probably just me...lol

oh god. i had my cervix checked monday night and it hurt like a bitch! yikes!

Yikes, I hope he didn't try to strip your membranes without telling you. My cervical checks never hurt until I was in labor!

if she hasn't dilated at all, he couldn't've stripped the membranes (luckily--i think it's horrible when docs do it without patient's permission/knowledge!).

He better not do that without telling me! I don't even know exactly what that is, to be honest. I think I'm gonna ask about that at my next appointment...

The more I have thought about it, it's probably just me. My very first appointment when the nurse practitioner did the pap smear, it actually really hurt then. And I kinda think that this exam may have hurt more because I haven't had sex for 7 months... lol

OK i was not informed this until i went into labor.

If you pick up your hips just a tad off the table when they ck it will not hurt as bad. It will still hurt but it will be something that you can handle.
