Let's give a whirl and twirl

So here's the deal:

post me a comment that reads "analyze the fuck out of me!" and ill respond to your comment with a series of questions. These questions are to be answered by putting them on your blog and then asking your friends to do the same as I have asked you to do. Pretty simple. Anyway here's the source of whom I continued this from:

1. Are you still a vegetarian? If so, I recall you telling me that you went veggie because of health reasons, not ethical ones. Now that you've been a veggie for a while, have the ethical imperatives begun to matter to you at all?

I am still a vegetarian (who eats fish on occassion).  The part in the parenthesis may make you believe I have answered the other part of your question but in fact I just got through watching a video entitled "meet your meat" today.  Pretty horrifically real however I'm still plagued with the idea that if I become a vegetarian for ethical reasons how far should I go?  Let's say I do become ethical in my vegetarian ways and toss out the eating of fish as well how am I to defend eating dairy?  Okay, so I throw out dairy how am I to defend someone who believes I shouldn't anything that is made with animal products (such as the dyes put frequently in a lot of foods).  Now I know that someone could say the same for the health reasons as well but I find it easier to tell someone at this current time that I'm doing it for health reasons instead of ethical reasons because no one seems to have a problem if I eat a bit of meat as a health advocate as where if I do it as a ethical advocate I'm sure to get more lambasted for it.  Call me a pussy but I'll become officially ethical when I can completely do away with all animal products.

2. Do you still support the Green Party? Why?

I never supported just the green party.  However what you are referring to is my vote for Ralph Nader in 2004 (who was independent that year).  In fact that year alone I had gone between nader, the green party (fuck if I can remember who that guy was that ran), and the Libertarian party (again the guy wasn't that memorable) as to who would get my vote.  Now why would I "throw away my vote" as dissenters would often say to those who vote for third parties?  Because I look back on history and see a constant battle between democrats and republicans that attempt to win our votes thinking we have to vote for one or the other.  Furthermore these two parties seem to set specific issues to focus on that don't clearly always reflect what some people would like to see raised by canidates (I'll take a line from Nader here and ask where was the talk about corruption in politics and corporations...no where because the two help each other out....Hilary anyone?)  Anyway if you want to see politicians eager for your vote give them something to chew on and vote for a different party instead of worrying that someone else wants you to vote democrat or republican because no one else is going to vote third party and you'll just be wasting your time and vote when rather you should be asking yourself "who has the finances to scare others out of the race and to just bully others in general?"  yeah it's a bit one sided I'll admit but so are ardent democrats and republicans.

3. If you had to, would you rather live in Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Russia, or Cromwell's England?

Stalin's Russia for sure.  I'd change my name though so i'd be at the bottom of his list of people to kill or let live so that when his often tired hand would get to the point where i'm at I'd be saved because Stalin had a writing cramp.

4. What's your favorite movie?

Hopefully "an unreasonable man" when I get the chance to see it...until then, 'Happiness' fucking rocks!

5. Did you ever write that paper about drugs and enlightenment? If so, can I have a copy? If not, why not?

I haven't yet...still exploring other "avenues" and have come to the conclusion that the "avenues" I was pursuing were good enough.  Seriously though I'm working on it in my head everyday and will come to paper this summer.  Yes you may have a copy of it if you let me have a few drinks on the house at your bar when it opens.
