All is not well in the small fish tank. After a few months of observation, it is apparent that the larger of my two
weather loaches is, contrary to my past experiences with the species as well as its general reputation, an angry and aggressive loach. It goes into these bouts of feeding frenzy and can sometimes be observed chewing my goldfish. Not a good thing. They are supposed to be mellow - the other one is. I can't even find anything on Google that talks about how to deal with it. I'm pretty sure the state of Virginia would not be appreciative if I let loose a mutant, angry Asian loach with personality problems into the waterways. It is probably illegal. Maybe I can sneak him back into Petsmart after 8 months?
