I mailed off the form and check for the Charlottesville Marathon (I'm doing the half), which is exactly a month from today, after some last minute second-guessing. After a year of regular running and 7 months of planning for looking forward to this event, suddenly there was last-minute nail biting, and I figured I just need to suck it up and send in the check so I can't back out. As to the fee, well, it's not that high, and I literally live on one of the streets this race takes; any subsequent marathons will probably be more expensive in addition to requiring travel, planning, hotels. Now onward to practice.
