Typical

::snort:: Y'know, if I'd be thinking, I could probably have predicted this. (Trigger warning: Discussion of sexual assault, but not happening to me personally.)

I was reading a WaPo article about a dude who's running around my area and grabbing women. The Post article described it extremely poorly as "hugging" but really he's groping. Ugh. He started out a bit further away and the last few assaults have been quite near where I live.

I commented on the article something like "Ugh ugh. Really icky and really near where I live. Ugh." Aaaaaand...someone commented that given my profile picture, I didn't have anything to worry about.

(Funny note: They said "Given your avi..." and I spent 5 minutes figuring out what Avi had to do with it. Heh. Unexpected amusement in something so annoying.)

I let it go for a bit while I figured out my response, then went back and commented: ::eyeroll:: Oh yes, because it's all about whether a woman is attractive enough to deserve being assaulted. Y'know, it doesn't matter. I could be the ugliest or most beautiful woman on the planet and I still would be skeeved out by a guy coming up and grabbing me and he still wouldn't have the right to do so.

It's so typical that someone would comment on my picture rather than on the actual issue. Typical and childish. Are you older than 12? Try and grow up a bit.

Not that I think that moron will understand, but I feel better. Gah. I really hate the whole human race sometimes.
