I have come to the decision that pleats are the bane of my existence.  For some reason I thought 60 inches would be enough to make a 30 inch waist...Yeah, no.  60 inches went down to 23 inches...To figure out my mistake I've added a short panel that is 21 inches to see if that will be enough to get the waist to 30 inches...We'll see if it works

Have you tried http://www.qualitysewing.com/ for questions and such? I'm thinking about taking their free sewing machine class to learn my new machine.

Back in the day, I used to be pretty good at sewing knife pleats. I never found any shortcuts, though. Just work out the math ahead of time and pin carefully. I had a lots of pins back then.

Lots of pins, yes. I think I need to go out and buy more pins.
