Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would be this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?
I was always the beta-reader rather than the fanfic writer, so I wasn't expecting to be writing anything this year. Besides joining a new fandom, where prompts and ideas seem limitless, I also took part in a few exchanges, which sort of challenged my commitment to deadlines and quality.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
If anyone told me that I was going to write for sports, much less in Tagalog, I'd have wondered if you were drunk.
What's your own favorite story of the year?
In English, it's I Won't Write You a Love Song, since I have a really soft spot for Chanyeol/Yixing, and I felt like this fic was one of those self-indulgent things I've done for myself and I find myself proud of it, even if I don't think anyone read it :))
In Tagalog, it's probably Ba't Di Mo Sabihin, since this was based on one of my college best friends' love stories gone wrong, and everything in this was close to reality, so this one's special to me.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
The biggest risk I've taken was to write in Tagalog. I learned that I am capable of writing somewhat decent fics in my mother tongue. Genre-wise, I think I tended to go angsty, which in itself was some kind of a risk... given that I knew so little about figure skating and I generally preferred reading fluffy fics.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?
Maybe write more. Show not tell. Try to dig deeper into the characters I write about. Maybe finally muster the guts to write something rated. Write something that isn't trash

From my past year of writing, what was…
My best story of this year: I think it's Ba't Di Mo Sabihin, since it's the one that I think makes people feel things when they read it, and it's realistic at the same time.
My most popular story of this year: I think it's probably A Day Without You, since some people are still waiting for the sequel to it. If WIPs count, it's definitely Love in the Ice... for reasons my co-author baoxiu and I will NEVER understand
Most fun story to write: Hands down, it's Chris Calwhoza vs the World, though I have one chapter to go.
Story with the single sexiest moment: Ugh. NONE.
Most "holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Uhm, it's another WIP but chapter 1's been posted... Ang Diary ng P-inoy Figure Skater simply because you can tell ganbaretsgo and I have no intention to taking this thing seriously. Besides, it's CC and GG aka match-made in hell
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Uhm, none yet, to be honest.
Hardest story to write: Definitely Dungawin ang Araw and Day by Day Without You. My mind was in a really dark place when writing those, as yurishika would know.
Biggest surprise: There's two. One would be Ang Handbook ng Tanga sa Pag-Move On -- simply because it's in Tagalog, and funnily, it's also the longest thing I managed to write this year. And probably 12:51, which was the first serious thing I've ever written for the year
Most unintentionally telling story: It's really 12:51. This one was based on a personal heartbreak, and I wasn't intending to pour too much of myself in Michael, which I ended up doing. Another one would be Before the Dawn. A segment in here also tells a more in-depth story of my heartbreak, so I guess this one counts too.

[Ang Handbook ng Tanga sa Pag-Move On] Bakit nga ba nawawasak ang mga tao dahil sa pag-ibig? Simple lang ‘yan dahil meron tayong tatlong decision-making bodies: ang utak, ang puso, at ang bird. Dapat balanced ang tatlo. Kaya lang minsan, nagsasanib powersa ang heart at ang bird at nag-ku coup d'état laban sa utak. Doon nagkakanda leche-leche ang mga bagay. Di ba, pag in love ka, tanga ka?

Hindi nagbago ang kanilang pagkakaibigian at dahil doon, lubusang nagpapasalamat si Denis. Mayroon mang nawala sa kanya, alam niyang maraming pagkakataon ang darating bilang kapalit. Hindi niya alam kailan, saan, o paano, pero, alam niyang kakayanin niya iyon lahat. Basta ngayon, alam niyang dapat sinasabi na ang tunay na nararamdaman o hangarin sa buhay, bago mahuli ang lahat.

Palibhasa kayo, wala kayong pakialam sa mga nararamdaman ng iba. Akala niyo ayos lang ‘yan sa taong iiwanan niyo. Hindi lahat ng tao, madaling mag-move on.
