I am a normal guy. Or I should say, I was a normal guy. I really-WAS-normal, before the sudden kidnapping attacked that night. I was riding my bike on my way back home from my part time job in the neighboring city. Then my mouth was covered by a big hand from behind and I didn’t know what happen next. As I opened my eyes, I already laid on a bed with fluffy pillows. I saw a super huge painting above me, and then I realized it was the ceiling of the room.
“Slurp…, slurp…,” I heard a weird noise near me. My neck was hurt then getting numb slowly. When I moved my head aside, a very glamorous scent attacked my nose. It was nice. Really nice to smell. My hand climbed to feel the pain on my neck. But it landed on soft silky hair of someone. I was really shocked that I feel want to whacked this head of strangers on my neck! But my vision got blurred. I had no strength to push it down. I fainted.

A shiny appearance of a luxurious black limousine parked in front of the gate was the case why everybody in the schoolyard getting stuck and everyone in the class gathered at the window with those amazed face. Three people in black suites got off from the car. Two of them then stood two meters away from the car like they cleared the way for someone important to walk. The other one opened the door while bowing deeply. A tall guy got off from the car. He dressed up normal like the other students, I mean in gakuran. But the aura was just too different than other people and somehow intimidated others.
I just arrived and was amazed by the view in front of me like the others at the schoolyard. The boys and girls began to whispering. Saying that the guy was the new sophomore. Saying that the guy must be a very rich person. Saying that he shouldn’t be at a public school like ours. Saying why he was nearing me. I stopped my steps as he got 30 centimeters away from my face.
“Are you okay?” was what he said. I didn’t really get it. I meant, why did he suddenly ask me that?
“Hai…,” and why did I feel nervous like hell?
“It’s good then,” he lowered his body and then ruffled my hair.
Those scent just now….

“Ne, ne…! Have you seen the new student? They said that he came out from a limousine! I can’t believe such a rare person existed! I mean…, the limo in our school?! What made him wants to study here?” Hikaru had the same thought as the others. Well…, I don’t care if he was a rich boy or what. What I wanted to know is, why did he suddenly asked me whether I’m okay or not. And those scent….
“Dai-chan, are you okay?” Now it’s Hikaru who was asking me. And it wasn’t strange since he is my friend. But a stranger asking that question so suddenly
“I think I woke up too early this morning so I feel a bit dizzy sometimes….”
“What about your neck? Are you hurt?” he pointed out my neck that covered by the band aid.
“No, it’s…, well….” How should I say it when I even didn’t know what it was?
“AH!!!” he screamed that surprised me and the others. He realized it and lowered his voice. “Could that be…,” he neared his mouth to my ear. “A kiss mark?”
“NO!!!” now is me who scream out loud and surprised others. Hikaru giggled. He must be really happy to tease me like that.
“If it’s not, then what?” he was still curious.
“Me even don’t know why do I have this marks,” I showed them to him. “I think I had strange dream that I was laid on a bed and my neck felt hurt then got numb. When I woke up, those marks were there already.”
“Hm…,” he saw the two red marks carefully. “It’s like the cobra or something bites you. But the space between another is a bit far to be compared to possible animal’s fangs which could bite you….” he talked as if he knows everything.
“Could that be… a vampire?!” I got stuck hearing that word coming out. Or actually WE got stuck, because Hikaru was also shocked with his conclusion just now.
“Excuse me…,” a new tone of someone cracked the sudden bad atmosphere we had just now. It was HIM.
“The other said that this seat is free, so can I...?” oh, he excused to us to get the seat which was seated by Hikaru. It’s no one’s seat actually, because Hikaru’s seat was beside me.
We both were spacing out while still looking at the new student who asked for the seat just now. Then Hikaru laughed.
“Ahahaha…! Muri, muri! Nah…, it’s impossible, right?” he waved his hand in front.
“Hahaha…! It really is!” I laughed agreeing with him. It’s impossible such a vampire really does exist.

To think that those red marks wasn’t from any bites of animals… then what was it? Could that be really a vampire? Geeze…, Hikaru’s thoughts really affected me.
“Tadaima…!” I arrived at home. Some shoes were lined up before the higher floor after the entrance door. “Do we have guests?” I voiced out my thought, asking nobody in particular in the house, I walked inside the living room.
“Ah, Dai-chan! Okaerinasai!” my mom looked so happy. I think she was in the happiest state that she smiled so brightly like that.
“We have very special guests visiting us,” she leaded my eyes to see who were visiting us.
“Konnichiwa Arioka-san! I’m Yabu Kota, the assistant of Takaki family, very pleased to meet you,” he bowed deeply. I thought I’ve seen him before somewhere. “I came here because there’s an old business between your family and Takaki family.” That name…, I thought I also have heard it somewhere….
“Ah! You’re home!” someone from behind shocked me. He sure is surprised me that I got perplexed. It’s HIM again!!! That Takaki Yuya! That new student! Why was he here all of a sudden?!
“We’ve meet at school, haven’t we? So I don’t need to introduce my self anymore,” he smiled. “Arioka-san…, your house is so nice,” he looked to my mother. “So, will you accept me here or I bring him to mine instead?”
WHAT?! My eyes widened.
WHAT WAS THAT?!
“Takaki-sama, let me explain this directly to Arioka Daiki-san,” That Yabu-san talked so politely. “It’s actually as you pleased Takaki-sama! But let him hear the explanation might be good, because this kid is just too full of him self and simple minded….”
WHAT?! MOM…! What’s the meaning of all of this?!

I can’t believe this! My mom didn’t even stop me! They’re strangers! How could she let me be with them like this?! They even talked about the vampire family! That Yabu-san said that my family has the bloodline to be the partner of the vampire family. That it wasn’t directly when we’re born we became the vampire’s partner. We’re chosen by them. So it could be possible that for a long time there wasn’t any of my family who became the partner. Because they still have them, or they chose one of my far far family, or they haven’t feel need to. The last partner my mom knows was the cousin of my grandfather. Oh, God…, please stop with those vampire things. Even mom….
Mom? Why didn’t she tell me earlier that our family has that kind of history? That our family has assignment like this with the vampires. And why the hell from all of the family members, that it has to be me?!

“You’ll get used to it sooner or later,” he smiled. I was in the big room of a super big baroque house. The ceiling was so high and all of it covered by beautiful paintings. When we got to the entrance and passed the big gate, I saw some deer, rabbits, squirrels and even birds enjoying themselves in the large park with the beautiful pond in the middle of it. The house it self, I couldn’t imagine how many rooms it has. I didn’t feel like I’m in Japan anymore. Do the vampires really live here?
“You can have a rest first. At seven we’ll have dinner with my entire family. I’ll officially introduce you as my partner,” he neared his face to me, and it thumped my heart so much.
“Hey…, what’s the meaning of partner actually? I just don’t get it…, and still don’t believe that….”
“That I am a vampire?” I nodded.
“I’m a vampire. You have to believe that first,” he began to explain.
“But, why don’t you scare to get out under the sun? I mean…, in the movies….” I remember that vampires scare of the sun, right?
“Some of us did. But that clan has just vanished hundred years ago. That was when our family made the contract.”
I tilted my head. Still absorb the information I got, yet I still don’t understand at all.
“We the vampires were divided into two big clans, the pureblood and mixed blood. Most of the mixed blood attacked humans, and they became the new mixed blood vampires. Therefore at that time the quantity of them increased uncontrollably. We, the purebloods, then cooperated with the vampire hunters to fix the problem. Then decided to exterminate them and ended up with the contract between us.”
“Uh…huh…, so you’re the pureblood?” he nodded. “And my family was… a vampire hunter?” another nod. Cool!!! I mean…, my family was a vampire hunter was just cool! ”Why do the vampires have two clans? What’s the difference between the pureblood and the mixed blood?” and I’m such a stupid heir who doesn’t know an important thing like this. My great great grandparents must be ashamed of me.
“Vampires were all pureblood and only drinks the blood from one person’s in their whole life. But one of us betrayed the unwritten rule and he began to drunk from various humans. The human we drank his blood first won’t become the vampire. Because he had already became the partner. But the second, the third and the other ones, they became the mixed blood vampires. So we decided to replace the rule as it was, and we made the contract with your family who were the vampire hunter. We help them exterminate the mixed blood vampires, and we will only drink the blood from their family bloodline.”
“You, the pureblood, isn’t this contract is just prosper your side the most? I mean, you made the problem so there was mixed blood vampire and now you decided to only drink the blood from my family bloodline instead?”
“We ARE the pureblood. We are the highest being ever.” He said it with all his might.
“WAIT!” I realized something. “So the partner you mean is…, that you’ll drink my blood?” I made the top conclusion. He nodded his head as a yes.
“And it tastes so nice,” he smiled. “Your blood.”
WHAT?! He already drank my blood? Then this marks…, my neck…, and the glamorous scent that time… it wasn’t a dream!
He lowered his body and neared my left ear, to the spots where he sucked my blood that night.
“Then…, are you scared now?”
