Storm damage

I came home to find that the storm last night had toppled the walnut tree in my side yard. Mom hated the tree anyway, supposedly the walnuts kill the grass. Since I mow there, I can say that a: there are no walnuts on the ground and b: there is grass there to mow. Our squirrels are very industrious. The one year mom picked up the walnuts and put them in the driveway to be run over -- the best way to crack them open -- then she put them on the sidewalk and left them overnight and the next day they were gone. The squirrels apparently thought it was a buffet.

Luckily, the tree fell into the yard and not across the power line or onto the house across the street or the house next door. It did a lot of damage to the tree next to it, but I don't think enough to kill it. I'm not a tree expert. The top limbs actually hit the 3rd tree, the one with the riding lawn mower by it, that's a pretty good distance away. I have no clue how it's getting cleaned up.

Thx to Google, here's some before shots and a couple of after shots:

The hole is deep enough that if I stood in it, I'd probably be waist level with the ground. WTF and I going to do with the hole? Jeez! I hope somebody needs firewood.
