The Gods Must Be Crazy
Today was shopping day in preparation for Christmas Holidays. As usual we will be having a Canadian/Caribbean Christmas with traditional foods plus some typical Trinidadian food! Yum Yum. There will be about 8-10 people coming. I'm looking forward to it mainly because I don't have to cook all I have to do is help to prepare everything.
Driving conditions have been terrible. They (The Queen and Phillip) are predicting a huge storm to hit Toronto this evening and tonight. It has been a LONG time since Toronto has had a "White Christmas". Slowly I am becoming acclimated to the cold. I still don't like it but I am getting used to it.
I think I have removed the Spam that hit my computer. The task bar above the screen has disappeared and it feels like it is working faster. All is well in cyber-land...for now
I can't believe that Christmas is creeping up on me again! I am really looking forward to it, partially because I have been away from it for 3 years and also because I have not been paying attention so I have missed the commercialism that is associated with it.
I am disturbed by the recent events associated with Christmas. I grew up celebrating 2 religions and 2 cultures. I did not have a conflict nor did I think that one was better than the other. It is disheartening that people cannot share in the time to celebrate the "spirit" of Christmas. No one is asking anyone to convert. Respect goes both ways in my world. Respect my beliefs and I will respect yours but don't tell me that one of the foundations of Western Civilizations is insulting to you. GROW UP PEOPLE!
I think we have to be INCLUSIVE of all beliefs- I didn't say celebrate them ALL but recognize them. People are getting too carried away with things. There is a WRONG and a RIGHT. Treating people-men and women, equally is RIGHT. Caring for elderly and infirmed is RIGHT. Protecting the weak and vulnerable is RIGHT. Saying that"I demand" that everyone allow me to follow my own laws even if it goes against basic Human Rights is WRONG! Lying to a country and invading a poor country is WRONG.
