...and i just saw the HUGEST spider in our hostel. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Anyway...back the good stuff...

This will be a very basic update..as we have tonnes of pics and will post them shortly after we get home. I wanted to write what we have done so far...as i'll probably forget once i'm home. You know...drinking too much in the pub kills brain cells ;)

The first day we flew over...our flight wasn't bad..someone kept farting though..and it smelled. Good weather across Canada..so we saw come cool things from the air.

Once we got to Glasgow..we stayed for one night in Paisley..as our hotel was there (close to the airport.) Went into Glasgow for some sightseeing..drinking..and shopping. Really didn't do much but drink.

Fuck..I keep feeling like there is a huge spider on me. EWWWWWWWWWWW.

The next day..we rented a car and drove up to Inverness. It was PISSING rain. Mike was great with driving on the left side of the road..so I let him do it. hee hee. We stopped at Bannockburn and Stirling..and also went shopping as I needed a raincoat. Drove up from there..stopping to take pics here and there. Our B and B in Inverness was nice...right by the Culloden battlefield. Went out for drinks and dinner in Inverness...I had the most yummy meal of stuffed chicken breast (it was stuffed with haggis!!! YUM).

The next day, we had a huge yummy scottish breakfast..yes even black pudding...and checked out the Culloden Battlefield. That was pretty cool. Most of you know I lived in Scotland for 2.5 years...but it's way more fun when you can see these sites with someone you love (sappy!) We checked out Loch Ness, and Urquhart Castle (that was cool too...Mike likes the ruined castles) and drove to Isle of Skye. On the way there, we happened to stop by the 5 sisters of Kintail(mountains)and take a photo..and Mike discovered this old ruined crofters house. So we went and checked that out. We drove to Skye..and went to the sleat peninsula where his family is from. McCutchon is of the clan MacDonald of Sleat...so we drove around some crazy single lane country roads to his old family castle..which parts of it are as old as 500AD..or something like that. Mike says that is his favourite part of the trip so far. Then we drove to our cabin in Kinlochleven, where we spent two nights.

Kinlochleven is right by Glencoe, so we spent one day checking that out and Fort William, and did some hiking up near Ben Nevis. The weather was pretty awesome...didn't rain.

Today, we left the cabin and drove to Edinburgh. The weather is awesome!!!! All sunny...pretty warm too for this part of the world! We checked into our hostel, which overlooks the Firth of Forth. We went into town..and did all of our shopping for friends and family. Tomorrow we will do the touristy thing and check out the sights around Edinburgh. It feels like I never left... I love this place! I'll update more later...but my time is running out.

See you when I get back,

Karen and Mike.
