[fic] Gundam 00 S2 - Kati x Patrick, "Eloping"

"Taisa! Where are you going?"
Kati winced at that voice coming from behind her. Not him, not now.
So she pretended not to hear him and continued on her way.
However, that guy, being the oblivious idiot he was, caught up with her.
"Taisa Taisa! Where are you going?!" he waved his arms around, looking concerned at the bag she was carrying.
Kati sighed. Maybe it'd be faster to get him to go away if she just told him. She looked up at his eager face and opened her mouth. But she hesitated.
Is it really wise to tell him?
After that last incident where A-LAWS went so far as to use the Momento Mori to destroy the orbital elevator, Kati decided that enough was enough. She never approved of the way A-LAWS did things, but she kept her opinions to herself and stayed with them, wanting to show Kujou that there are ways to bring the conflict to a quick end.
However, that latest incident was the last straw. She couldn't live with herself and her pride as a strategiest if she stayed with people who would resort to such low tactics.
So she decided to leave them. However, she couldn't just tell them she quit. They wouldn't let her, and she would have to face the consequences.
Well, she supposed that sneaking away would be considered deserting, and if she got caught, she would have to face the consequences as well.
Which was why she didn't want to get Patrick involved. She had planning to leave without letting him know. But it was just her bad luck that Patrick found her in the hallway at that moment.
She sighed. No, she shouldn't tell him. It was too risky. Both for him, and for her. After all, he might cause a fuss.
"I'm just going on a vacation," she told him as casually as she could. There, that should satisfy his curiousity and get him off her case.
But to her annoyance, Patrick wasn't convinced. Maybe Kati was just a bad liar, or maybe Patrick had been around her too much to know that she was lying.
"I don't mean to be rude Taisa, but where are you really going?"
Kati sighed again. "Can I trust you?"
Patrick grinned from ear to ear, "Of course you can!"
She rolled her eyes at that, but beckoned him closer, and told him about her plan.
Patrick's eyes widened. "You mean you're actually--" he exclaimed out loud.
"Shhhh!!!" Kati shushed him in annoyance, and looked around to make sure nobody was around to hear him. Luckily, they were the only ones in the hallway.
"Don't you dare tell anyone," she told him sternly.
"Don't worry," he grinned again, "I won't tell a soul. Not even if they torture me."
Kati wasn't sure whether to laugh or sigh at that. "Good. Now good bye," she said curtly as she turned to leave.
"Wait!" he called out. When she didn't stop, he reached out and grabbed her shoulder.
"What?" she turned to him in annoyance, brushing off his hand.
"Let me go with you."
"Eh?" she was a bit startled. Did she hear him correctly?
"Take me with you Taisa," he repeated.
"Don't joke around," she told him.
"I wasn't joking." Patrick's face all of a sudden turned serious. "I want to go with you."
This was the other reason she didn't want to tell him.
"I don't want you to get involved," she told him flatly. "Stay here and--"
"But Taisa!" He cut her off, "The reason I joined A-LAWS was to protect you. If you're going, then I'm going as well."
Kati's expression softened. This idiot...
"It could be dangerous you know," she told him sternly.
"I know," he replied, then grinned in his normal goofy fashion, "But I'm not afraid of danger. I am the Immortal Colasour after all."
She rolled her eyes, "You do know what you'll be getting yourself into, right?"
"Nope!" he laughed a little, making her facepalm, "But it doesn't matter, as long as I'm with you Taisa, it's fine with me."
Kati smiled in spite of herself. She sighed in defeat.
"Go pack your bags. You have five minutes."

Author's Notes: Kati and Patrick, where are you?!!? They have eloped methinks =D But yeah, Kati is missing from A-Laws, presumably she deserted, and Patrick probably went with her. I've been wanting to write this scene for a while, just didn't have time.. DX Where did Kati go and what was she planning?? I have no idea. I hope we find out in the last 4 eps of the series...
Oh, I used "Taisa" instead of the English translation for it (Captain) because I see it as a nickname that Patrick uses for Kati XD
