Gundam 00 S2 ep 20 Rant

So, ep 20, we're almost at the end... I stayed up to watch the livestream again, even though the lag kinda killed almost everything XD Though the audio lag going like t-t-t-h-h-ii-i-i-s-s-s is actually kinda funny. I couldn't stop laughing now that I think it has a nice rhythm to it (and almost sounds like a rap song) XDD


Anyway, watched the raw now, have yet to see subs. Forgive me if my understanding of Japanese is wrong, may have to edit this after seeing subs.

• We're back to the interrogation of Revive, who's acting all smug. He tells them that he might know where Veda is, but implies he's not telling them. Like I said for the last 2 weeks, this plan is rather poorly planned out. Did Ptolomy crew expect the Innovator they capture to just tell them where Veda is?? And Tieria says right out that they want to take over Veda, after Revive asked them why they want to know. Pfffttt, you know Tieria, that's not gonna make him tell you; in fact, he's not going to tell you now that you said you want to take it over. Innovators aren't stupid you know. If you want to make him talk, at least point a gun to his head or something >__>
• Anyway, Revive makes fun of human's incompetence, and Lyle points out that he was captured, to which Revive replies that it's on purpose. So yes, that smirk we saw last week and Hilling's comment, indicated that this was all planned.
• Just then, Feldt pages them with the news from the bridge. Lasse was shot in the stomach, but he's still alive. Yay!!!!! Anew's taken Mileina hostage and gone somewhere. Feldt tells them that Anew was an Innovator, to which they react "gasp OMG r u srs no wai!!" An Innovator, Anew? Masaka!! I love how Alle even says "doushite" (why/how) XD Uh, because she is? Yes Lyle, you should've reported the zoning out and glowy eyes. Now look what you've done!
• Revive walks out and shuts down their system (though I'm not sure how...). They let him go 'cause he threatened to ping Anew to kill Mileina if they tried anything. Revive goes to the hangar and karate-kicks Ian out of the way (nuuu!!!! too bad Saji doesn't know how to combat) and gets on the 0-Raiser.
• Meanwhile, they're trying to find Anew. Setsuna seems to be semi-Innovator now, or at least be able to detect QBW or something, 'cause he tracked down Anew pretty easily (lol, I love how he kicks the sides of the hallway to float around). Soma also found Anew through QBW, and they have a showdown. Soma <33 She's much more useful than Alle
• 'cept their showdown was interrupted by Setsuna and Lyle (lol, Mileina's "Seiei-san" sounds hilarious) to the rescue. Mileina's so cute >__< Lyle distracts Anew by getting Setsuna to make him Riverdance fake-shoot him, and saves Mileina, and Anew runs.
• Revive tries to drive away with the 0-Raiser (why didn't he steal the 00 Gundam instead?? Maybe Anew was supposed to do that, but she failed). Setsuna comes out in the 00 to stop him. And here comes the best part of the ep: Red Haro comes out and totally pwns Revive <3333333 Haro takes over control of 0-Raiser and does docking with 00. Haha, Revive gets error messages and decides to give up stealing the 0-Raiser, but not before shooting the control panel with a gun and destroying it.
• Anew in her stolen transport thingy comes to pick Revive up. Lyle had the perfect opportunity to shoot them down, but because of Anew's ghostly image, he couldn't pull the trigger Dx Phail! He could've at least shot at Revive, who was out in space and all vulnerable, if he didn't want to hurt Anew. Geez. But no, he decides to be all philosophical at that moment, and monologues on why he's here (ie what he's fighting for); for Katharon? for CB? d00d, you can monologue later, your girlfriend is getting away.
• Well, Lyle does monologue, and angst, when he gets back on the ship. Setsuna comes in and offers some advice, and warns him that he will shoot her down and stuff. Yes Lyle, you have been warned, okay.
• Ribbonz offers to make Louise the first human Innovator. Still have no idea what this is all about; Wang was talking about it before, and Ribbonz denied her. Anyway, he showed Louise her new toy, which is finally finished. Lol@the claws XD Weapon of mass destruction, check; crazy scream, check and all prepared (we saw that last week). Congrats Louise, you're well on your way to becoming Four/Stellar =D Now all you need to do is try to kill your boyfriend again, and get killed in the process.
• Aaaand the fighting begins. Anew debuts in a bright blue Gadessa-like unit. Oooh, it has Fangs. I hope you're ready to kill her Lyle.
• Hilling <3333 OMG she's adorable. She's making fun of CB for having Lyle fall in love with an Innovator and stuff, and broadcasting this to them (not sure how though...), while laughing gleefully. Oh Hilling. She's trigger-happy too.
• Louise uses her new toy to pwn everyone. Okay, I don't get this... HOW DOES THE BEAM BEND LIKE THAT?!?!?!?! I know it's anime and Gundam and physics doesn't apply and all, but still!!! It just... bends, for no reason, and seemingly arbitrarily!! why?? how?!?! does it shoot out invisible mirrors in advance to bend the beam or something!?? IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!!!
• Alle.... oh Alle... You need to learn from Halle how to effectively use the pointiness of Arios.. We don't see him actually hitting anything, even though he's constantly shooting... and in the end, he got shot =_=;; Seriously, Soma is much better in her Gun Archer...
• Tieria and his bazookas... lol, how many does he need? must be compensating for something. But OMG the super huge hyper-burst ball of energy is dispelling by Louise's magic Mobile Armour of Magic. Cue Tieria's trademark "Nani!?"
• Lyle fights Anew. I must admit, Shield Bits in assault mode is awesome =D They're like Fangs, but can also act as shields =D He angst and cries out to Anew and stuff. I don't like Lyle as a character, but his voice... esp when shouting... oh MikiShin =w=
• Lyle actually managed to overpower Anew with Trans Am and stuff, and he was able to get her to snap out of it. The Veda eyes disappeared, and she's back to old Anew. So it means, she was remote controlled?? Anyway, Lyle proceeds to rip at her MS, tearing the part covering the cockpit. Smart Lyle, smart. Why don't you go ahead and rip her suit apart even farther, causing it more damage... And while he's doing that, he's saying how he'll make her his woman again >____> ... it totally looks like raep
• So Anew gets convinced, and tries to climb out of the cockpit to come to him, 'cept Ribbonz decides to remote-control her, and she goes to destroy the Shield Bits and totally trashes Cherudim (oh boy, I feel SO sorry for Ian and Mileina and the Haros...), while Lyle just sits there and goes "hey wait what wait stop!"
• Anew charges at Lyle for the final blow, and at this moment, Setsuna comes with the 00 and shoot her (Setsuna has good aim, took him only one try and a fast moving target XD). Cue slow-motion and weird creepy inverted colours. OMG the livestream froze on the frame with the closeup of Anew's face in the creepy colours *shudders* I'm gonna have nightmares DX
• Anew's connection to Ribbonz is lost, and her suit falls into the Cherudim's arms. Setsuna flies by and spreads the magical sparkly particles on them, making them able to meet in space while naked, and have one last talk before she blows up.
• Eeewwwwww nekkidness!!! >___< But LOL@the art (see screencaps below). Lyle has huuuge hips, and seems to have sprung b00bs even XDDD It's the magical particle's fault!
• Anew tells Lyle that she's happy she's an Innovator, 'cause of that, she met Lyle. And in comes the acapella version of Trust You. This scene would've been touching, if I actually cared about the couple....
• Anew's suit blows up, and Lyle screams her name presumably like they always do when someone dies (though thankfully we couldn't hear it 'cause of the bg music).
• After the ending song, they're back in the ship, and Lyle beats up on Setsuna for killing his girlfriend. He was hitting Setsuna so hard that the poor kid is bleeding. And Setsuna, being the punchbag that he's become, just stands there and takes it like a man.... and even lets Lyle cry on him. Setsuna ;___; <333
• Okay Lyle, I know you're angry that he killed your girlfriend, but come on!! HOW DARE YOU RUIN SETSUNA'S BEAUTIFUL FACE?!! Seriously though, I do feel a bit sorry for Lyle (even though I don't care about the couple), and I don't blame him as much since ppl are illogical when they're grieving, but really....
  
• D00d, HE SAVED YOUR LIFE DAMMIT! And, he even warned you before going out in battle! And, she's the enemy, it's CB's goal, it's not his fault! In fact, who was the one who didn't report her "symptoms" when you had suspicions again?!? Who was the one who endangered the crew, causing Lasse to be shot and Mileina possible trauma and Ian and the Haros extra work because of it??! Yeah, think about it Lyle, think about it. Agh, this reminds me of SEED Destiny, when Kira destroyed Stellar's Destroy when she was about to shoot and kill Shinn. Kira saved Shinn's life, but Shinn blames Kira anyway because he killed Stellar...
• Setsuna for some reason is hearing Marina's song. Yay finally a version of the song that doesn't have the children or the organ in it. It looks like she's sitting in a prison cell XDD
• Previews: Wang and Hong Long are alive. I expected as much. No, not because it's Sunrise, but because their story and past haven't been explained yet (ie why she wants the world changed so badly), and last week we just saw their ship explode in bits, not totally blown up (Nena has pretty bad aim, she didn't actually hit the bridge XD). It looks kinda bad for Klaus, and Marina takes the children through the woods.
• So, Anew died. I would've felt sad if I cared about her. I don't really dislike her, but don't really care. Because even though she was part of CB and have been with us for some time, her character was really underdeveloped, so I can't get attached to her, therefore, I just see her as someone I can finally cross off my Bingo sheet. Yay!! (I hope she doens't come back to life 2 eps later >__> ) I am a bit surprised that she got killed off so soon though, first time out fighting and already gone (hey wait, Devine was like that too.. lolz). Seeing as how she's in the OP in the beginning, having a longer moment than even Soma, makes her seem important. And for the most part, she's been pretty much in the background, I thought finally we're gonna focus on her more, and they kill her off right away.. I guess it's 'cause there are too many subplots to tie up that they're simply running out of episodes and have no time to develop her. And I suppose she could still have a role, in her influence on Lyle (I expect ghost!Anew some time in the future >_> )
• As for the Lyle x Anew pairing, I couldn't care about it either. First of all, I don't care for either character (which is essential for me to like a pairing). Secondly, it was waaaay too rushed and pushed in our face. Like I ranted before, yeah there was the 4 month time skip, but because they didn't show us (other than a few cliche flashbacks), it doesn't feel right; it feels like they got lazy with development and just told us to imagine the rest. I mean, 2 eps ago we were just seeing them get together and confess and stuff >_> Speaking of which, that's the part that feels like it's pushed in our face. Because they don't have time to show us, they have to tell us, by having them all talk lovey-dovey (Anew was all like "I really did love you Lyle"), which makes me gag because I find it hard to accept their relationship as real love... I prefer subtlity, like Klaus x Shirin, much more. And if Klaus dies next ep, I'll be much much sadder... But the most problem I have with this is the rushed-ness, which didn't give time for the audience (like me) to get attached to the couple and to care about their dramatic ending (even though the end was pretty good and dramatic if I did care about them). Alle x Marie was in some ways rushed as well, but they did have the time all last season to interact at least...
• They really love the whole "lovers across the battlefield" thing don't they... never works out though. Lyle may have to share the Emo Bench now with Saji and Alle, though they might not let him sit there 'cause his gf's gone now.

Speaking of magical sparklies, look, it's making Lyle spontaneously grows b00bs!! D= And the hair doesn't help him look any more manly either... it's only the shoulder that looks manly... (too manly in fact, that it looks out of place XD)

First the magical sparklies take away Setsuna's male bits, then it wakes up Halle in his slumber, and then it gives Tieria Herbal Essences girl hair, and now it's giving Lyle child-bearing hips and b00bs. What next? Make Saji into a girl?? Oh the wonders of technology.... XD

Next ep, Marina and the kids are lost in the woods on their way tograndmother's house. Will they ever find their way out?
