Inoo corners Yabu with tears in his eyes and murmurs three words that make Yabu's heart stop. Yabu bites his lip and maintains his composure as Inoo starts to lose his. Inoo's trembling hands make Yabu want to reach out but he refrains, so he does the only other thing he thinks of - he nods.
Inoo's eyes widen in response. He opens his mouth but decides not to continue; shaking his head instead. As Inoo bows, Yabu feels his eyesight blurring and his heart clenches. He swallows, trying to dislodge the words he wanted to say from his throat, but it was futile.
Inoo leaves and takes a piece of Yabu's heart with him.
Later when Yabu is alone in his bed, he receives an e-mail from Inoo.
"I've always loved you more than you loved me." - written in plain text with no emoji and as Yabu reads it for the nth time he feels a sob pass through his lips and he starts to break down because it just wasn't true. He loved, no, loves Inoo more than words could describe, but for the life of him, he just couldn't (didn't know how to) express it.
Yabu wakes up the next morning with puffy eyes but at the same time, a rejuvenated heart. Today, he is going to win Inoo back.
