• After the recount, Franken won the Minnesota senate race. 
• There's a new, optimistic push for DC finally getting a vote in Congress.  Overall I think that's fabulous, it's about time D.C. got a say in the body to which they pay taxes and that has veto power over every aspect of their governance (though I realize that even if the bill passes

re: DC voting: of course, it may not be unconstitutional; the District clause of the Constitution (1.8.17) has been held that Congress may decide to determine when rights normally afforded the "States" should be expanded to DC (e.g., Mutual Insurance Co. v. Tidewater Transfer Co.). And it could be difficult to find someone with standing to challenge the bill.
