I'm not sure how I feel about the new court nominee. Correction: I'm pissed off both that Bush is using the nomination timing to deflect attention from his administration's corruption and that Roberts is white, Christian and male (not that being a member of an oppressed group automatically infuses your legal interpretations with an emphasis on minority rights, but some representation would still be nice). As for Roberts' competency (not to mention whether I agree with his legal philosophy), I honestly don't know enough to say (despite reading a few articles on the subject).
