On Summer

Hey, everybody!
Well, I guess it's summer. I've been enjoying it immensely. It sprinkled again today, and yesterday I biked through a few dried leaves, but I shall hold out hope until the end.
Summer is fantastic, and I do not understand people who insist that it's too hot, and continue to work as if blind to beauty itself. The doorbell rang yesterday, and when I opened it, a large box had been left there by the delivery man. Clyde had ordered five more floaties. I guess I'm not the only one who believes. Yesterday was beautiful again. (Okay, so it's only been a few days!) But, I've grown accustomed to swimming daily and not wearing a shirt. It's fantastic! Particularly as a person who has had body hair since my tweens, it's entirely freeing to be at once perfectly contented in my own self. I think of a summer trip to eastern Washington a few years ago, as the first time when I was comfortable not just with my friends, but with my body as it is. Anyways, I went to my friend Vena's party sans shirt - on one of the hothot days, and was greatly outnumbered by those in black shirts. I have no need to defend myself. These people are insane. Now I'm not saying that I haven't enjoyed a brief respite from the sun. Clyde's boat has been a godsend, and I most definitely got quite drunk and just decided not to care as my back became quite burnt. But now that the entire upper layer of skin has peeled off my back, I'm ready for more.

So... let's go to the beach! Rain or shine, I'm soo there!
