Trying to decide which iPad to get. Here are my choices:
1. Generation 1 or wait for Generation 2?
Rationale: Get the first generation to be an early adopter because the device is cool and it would be an upgrade from the iPod Touch I have. Wait until all of the bugs are out and the eventual price drop of Generation1. They may even have a 3G/4G device for Sprint/Verizon
2. Wifi Only (and get a 3G/4G MiFi from Sprint) or Wifi+3G?
Rationale: I have an iPod touch that is a real pain to have if I don't have connectivity. I really don't want another contract, but onboard 3G is really cool to have. At the same time, I am planning to get a 4G USB modem or a 3G/4G MiFi, but the Sprint contracts for it suck. This is the hardest decision
3. Purchase as soon as it comes out or wait 6 months?
Rationale: I really want to be an early adopter of either the first or second generation device. The Chinese in me knows that there will be a lot of refurbs on the market 6 months after either comes out. I have a lot of confidence in Apple Refurbished gear (in fact I have the best experiences with refurbs) and there is a cost savings.
Currently, I am leaning towards Getting a Generation 1 Wifi+3G when it first comes out, but I have to think about the above. This I do know: I will get AppleCare and I will be picking up a case for it.
