Looks like a received a round toit, because I have been working on things this weekend that I told people I would start on when I got "around to it." So enough puns for now...
I am updating this journal from my old Powermac G5. As I type I am in the midst of a massive back up that will turn into an even more massive upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5.
For those of you who are into Macintosh, you will know that OS 10.5 is up to version 10.5.6 and OS 10.6 is coming next month. The thing is, I planned to upgrade a while ago, but was afraid of the things that might happen to my computer and hard drives. I have been slowly buying back up drives and waiting for the capacity/price ration to be favorable to purchase them. So... I updated my laptop about a month ago and somehow lost 60% of my photos in iPhoto (I was able to find them on a back up and figured out how to fix it by accident only 1 hour ago). Unlike some photos on my windows machine, I found a work around. The really bad problem with all of this is that I purchased my family pack of 10.5 back in December, 2007 - so that really took a long time to work on. On to other technology.
I also modified my Nintendo Wii by linking up 2 controllers and upgraded the software to 4.0. This is in preparation to start reusing the Wii Fit as my foot gets a little more feeling back to it. I can toss out the boxes for the new controller and start getting into playing - or better yet, get ready to make it mobile to play with some frineds on a projector that was purchased for it.
More of the empty cardboard boxes are being taken out. I must remember to save the big ones for my girlfriend's cousin.
And that brings up another item - I finally got around to changing my status to in a relationship on Facebook. This was a little bit of conundrum because we wanted to keep it quiet for a few months on the family side, but I did let everyone know in the family personally early last month. The big thing that stopped me was that I would always remember to update my Facebook profile while on my iPod Touch instead of on my Mac. I was not able to modify it there and so I got stuck. On thing I was not worried about updating my Facebook status was that more than one of my former ex's can go through common friends and see my status. I just really didn't get around to it.
That brings me to this journal. I have not updated it in a while because I have found that updating on the iPod is a pain and even the software that I use (iJournal) is missing some features that I am used to. I bought somee other software in 2008 that has been sitting around waiting for me. In this package is MacJournal from Mariner Software. After the upgrade an some purging on both Mac Systems (I have two license copies so I can load it on both legally), I should be up and blogging again on a more regular basis.
Until then, may Peace be with all of us and may fear disappear.
