Twilight was a bad movie

...and other thoughts.

I think Twilight might have benefited from a better writer, a different director, some new casting, and less extreme Edward hair. Mostly the characters seemed deprived of both personality and backstory, and the big romance was lacking chemistry. Spark. Romance. He glitters like jewelry for #*$%'s sake. Yay for having a budget category to save for Shiny stuff! Right now, sadly, all my digital spare change goes to paying off debt, making sure there's enough money set aside for the stuff that use to go on the credit cards (home repairs, I'm looking at you), and saving up for Japan... but I hope to have Shiny categories eventually!

I love my Calphalon pots, but they aren't pretty and shiny (more like heavy and black). They are pretty close to indestructable, though.

Calphalon was the other recommendation of my friend Cory, who doesn't melt pots by ignoring them to death. But their anodized aluminum set wasn't shiny. Also, the specific set he pointed me to didn't include a covered skillet.

The OMG giggly neat thing about this is that my digital spare change is a little like collecting pennies. It's the <$30 left after all the regular categories + savings have been planned, plus the odd amounts I regain when one of the variable bills comes in under budget. Which means it should take almost a year. It also means that Shiny is the category I'll have to dip into when the variable bills go over budget. (I like to keep them zeroed out like the fixed bills.)

I am astonished (it is utterly beyond my comprehension, you see) that you do not consider "saving up for Japan" a "shiny" category.

My comment might be nothing without context though, so: If I were to ever engage in such budgetary gadgetry, "saving up for Japan" would be under the "Pipe Dream" line item. :P

Live the dream for me, Sara, live it. XD

LOL! It's only because I consider saving up for Japan a "necessary expense." ^_~ As in, I'm going to end up going whether I save up enough or not, so it's pretty much in the same category as car repairs and furnaces from that perspective.

"saving up for Japan" would be under the "Pipe Dream" line item. :P

Sadness! We need to get you a better job. :-(
