Taking refuge in the air conditioning, I'm hiding inside and reading manga to beat the heat.  It's so humid outside the sweat starts to drip the second you step outside!  This made me wonder why Jio and Ball, even in the middle of intense physical training, never seemed to break a sweat!  The only time Jio seemed to sweat was when he was forced to ( Read more... )

Oh, poo, another weekend draws near its end.  Soon it will be time to begin another week at the grindstone.  At least I don't have Wolfina's job: criminal photographer, constantly on the run from her less than photogenic subjects.  It would be enough to make me call in sick every day and hide under the bed!

What else is there to do on a dreary, rainy Sunday afternoon? Why, read manga, of course!  I have been looking forward to reading the first volume of  Yurara, and I was very happy when it didn't disappoint.  There are a couple more of Chika Shiomi's titles floating around out there - somebody please license them!

Oops!  I picked up another shounen title.  After mind-numbing 11 hour work days, sometimes I'm just too wiped out to handle all the emotions roiling in most shoujo series.  Fighting based manga can be so pleasant, as they require little brain power to absorb.  Insidiously, they just make you turn the pages, as your eyes drink in panel after panel ( Read more... )
